In recent years, shrine weddings have gradually become popular. For those who yearn for the shrine but are worried about the doubts, a brief introduction to the cultural background is given.
The current tradition of shrine ceremonies officially originated from the wedding of Emperor Taisho in the Meiji era, and has since spread among the general public.
Shrine weddings may give people a stereotypical impression, but because of the various constraints of the shrine’s rules and regulations,
it seems more ceremonial than the free Western-style wedding, so the number of couples choosing shrine weddings is gradually increasing.

What are the restrictions
on the shrine: 1. Fixed ritual process
: The newlyweds and guests line up to enter the shrine, and after the evil spirit-removing ceremony, the main priest will report the blessing to the god, and
after the ceremony of handing over the glass of wine at 339 degrees, the process will take about 30 minutes.

2. The protagonist is the man, and the woman follows
the oath reading process to be completed by the groom alone

3. Participate in the ceremony The original meaning of marriage
is the ceremony of the two families, basically only relatives can participate in the wedding, and friends can not participate, can only watch the ceremony.
According to the shrine’s regulations, it may not be possible to let friends participate. If you are a new couple, be sure to check it in advance

4. Restriction
on ritual filming records Because of the belief in the gods, you cannot turn your back to the gods (the main path of the temple) in the process, and refuse to record and shoot ceremonies such as avoiding evil spirits and reporting.
Some shrines refuse all staff, including filming staff. In order to commemorate the occasion, we will also try to take photos before the ceremony.
