Looking at this photo series, I’m reminded of a Japanese movie I once watched called “Tennen Kokekko”.
It’s set in a rural village far from the big city, with a small middle school and innocent, youthful boys and girls.
This place faces the sea and backs onto the mountains, where you can catch dragonflies in the hills, set off fireworks by the shore, and walk along quiet country roads after school.
Here lies a romantic path known as the “Angel Road,” a famous filming location for “Kiki’s Delivery Service.” The area is also renowned for its local handcrafted soy sauce.
This place is called Shodoshima, one of the 3,000 islands in the Seto Inland Sea.
It’s a bit modest, a bit charming, filled with youthful energy — the perfect setting for a youth romance story straight out of a Japanese drama.
