“Bang!” Applause rang out.
We closed our eyes, folded our hands, and whispered our wishes to the gods.
At this moment, I only pray that your wish will be granted.

When it comes to visiting shrines,
have you ever tried to stand in front of a hand water bowl or rattle?
Have you ever tried to sit silently and watch other people do their worship, and then do it again?

The torii gate is a symbol of the shrine.
It is said that the torii gate is a kind of barrier that connects the realm of the gods where the gods live and the mundane passages where humans live.
Therefore, walking through the torii gate means stepping into the place of the gods.
Remember to greet the gods before you walk by, that is, bow and salute as a sign of respect for the gods.

The central path is actually a path for the gods to walk, so be sure to walk on both sides of the approach.

Before the official visit to the shrine, everyone is asked to come to the water house to cleanse their body and mind.
How do you wash it?

First, take a bamboo spoon with your right hand and pour the water into your left hand and wash your left hand.
The opposite is also true. Pick up the spoon with your left hand and pour the water into your right hand and wash your right hand.
After that, take a bamboo spoon with your right hand and pour it into the palm of your left hand, and put the water in your palm into your mouth.
Don’t put your mouth at the spoon, and don’t drink the water, just spit it out.
Finally, hold the spoon upright (with the mouth facing inward) so that the remaining water in the spoon runs down the wooden handle and put it back in place.

Enter the main hall.
First of all, we need to put the sesame oil money into the cash box.
Usually you will prepare 5 yen per piece for worship, because it is pronounced like ご縁 (knot).
The metaphor of bonding with the gods symbolizes that good things will happen and everything will go well.

If there is a rattle in a shrine.
After throwing in sesame oil money, you can shake it gently.
In addition to greeting the gods and signaling your arrival to the gods, the clear voice also has the meaning of removing misfortune.

Then, remember the mantra: “Two salutes, two clappings, one salute”.
Bow twice to the gods and pay homage to them.

After bowing, clap your hands twice to show the joy and emotion of seeing the gods.
Then tell the gods your wishes, and then put your palms together once to express your gratitude.
Finally, don’t forget to bow once to finish.
